Spent Saturday arvo out at Black Rock getting the base for the burnout pad ready. We plan to concrete it next Saturday if all goes well so if anyone has a bit of time to spare and want to come out for a while it would be appreciated. smile.gif

It's racing on Sunday again so there will be the usual working bee as well.

The pad:

The track seemed to be getting wider and wider, so to re-mark the track edge I ripped a few spots as well.

The pad is going to be 20 metres by 20 metres (65ft x 65ft) square and hopefully a short straight run into the pad, but there's LOTS of room to add to it when funds are a bit better. As it is there will be enough room for a large car to do figure eights and doughies, so a smaller car (like a corolla biggrin.gif ) will have heaps of roon.

Not sure when the first real comp will be but hoping to get a small one in before the end of the season, maybe after the funday. Going to have a few doing "demo" skids at the September meet during the lunch break to get a bit of interest going.

Is it the same as Pirie's pad or a bit smaller ?

Bigger than Pt. Augusta's but not as big as Pirie's. When it's added to it will be going longer but stay the same width, better for long powerskid type burnouts.

Well the sun shined on us today and all went well at the busy bee, Black Rock now has a burnout pad smile.gif

Everything's ready for racing tomorrow and if the weather is anything like what we had today it should be a great day.

Black Rock racing tomorrow...lunch time entertainment will be some of us doing burnouts on the new pad.

27 degrees and slight breeze forecast for the area so it should be a brilliant day out there smile.gif
